SAP Monitoring uses SAP Solution Manager to collect metrics and data points from your SAP systems. Relevant data from applications, interfaces, processes, databases, jobs, and the SAP Basis system are collected. SAP Solution Manager enables event and alarm management by capturing process-relevant monitoring data and comparing it to preset alarm and threshold values. Via the interface construct, it is possible to transmit an alarm via e-mail or SMS. The interface of Solution Manager also enables an ITIL-compliant connection to a ticket system, also Solution Manager can already provide its own IT Service Management. Solution Manager offers the possibility to react automatically to monitoring events by means of defined actions.

For cloud-centric landscapes, SAP offers SAP CALM (SAP Cloud ALM) monitoring solutions with a range of functions based on Solution Manager.
